Men’s Monday Five a Side League – Winter Season 2019/2020 Round Up

Division 3

A massive congratulations to our Division 3 champions, TBC. 10 games and 10 wins, there is no doubting the credentials of these title winners! Congratulations are also in order for Khazra who were able to seal promotion to Division 2 as well. What a turn around for the team who finished second last in the previous season! Close but no cigar in the end for Petr Cech Yourself, who were unable to find a consistent run of form to seal a promotion spot despite moments of real quality. Although a fourth placed finish may not seem special, the turn around that Nobody FC have carried out from last season to this season is nothing short of remarkable. After finishing last season with 0 points, they were able to collect a very respectable 13 points this season. A disappointing season for DC Utd, finishing fifth with just 6 points. They will be hoping for a big turn around going into next season. Double Pogba & Koke were unable to muster up a single point throughout the season and will definitely be hoping next season’s performances are more Grey Goose than Asda Smart price.

Division 2

Back to back promotion and title wins is a massive achievement, and Murder on Zidane Floor have achieved just that, a massive congratulations to their whole team! Congratulations are also in order for Notts So Locks who were able to snatch promotion from the hands of Cross FC who miss out on goal difference alone! Puyol Pants Down find themselves finishing fourth after entering the last day of the season in second, a heartbreaking way to miss out on promotion. Can they go the full way next season? With just 7 points on the season, BETEL FC find themselves accompanying Average Banter on a journey to the third division.

Division 1

Another season and another title for Pinters, congratulations to everyone in the team. However this season was no cake walk and they were truly pushed to prove their quality. Can anyone topple this five a side Goliath? Dids and Heart of Blokes finish neck and neck in second and third respectively. Separated only by goal difference. Both teams will no doubt be desperate to knock Pinters off of their perch next season. Seshfield Wednesday were fantastic competitors and a few close defeats were the only thing between them and a authoritative title challenge. They could be a real dark horse for the title next season! Despite finishing in a relegation spot, you have to feel sorry for Net 6 & Chill, not only a fantastic name and a great group of lads too who provided some real quality. However you can’t concede over 100 goals and expect to remain in the top division. Show me the Mane have been shown the relegation door and walked through weeks ago, unable to even crack double digits for goals scored.
