Waterboys Win Siemens 5-a-side Corporate Tournament

Congratulations to Waterboys, A long trip from Brighton made worthwhile as they are crowned as the champions of Siemens 5-a-side football tournament. The best team throughout, they saw off eleven teams through group stages, quarters and semi’s before comfortably taking the title 4-0.

The group stages saw the top two teams from each group progress, plus the best two third placed teams making up the eight quarter finalists.

Penalty shootout decides the last quarterfinal spot

Afternoon Off United – ISOPS took on Northern Persuasion in a best of three penalties to take up their place. A quick way to find a winner – or so you’d think. The two teams managed 14 spot kicks between themselves before the ISOPS team progressed, only to be immediately eliminated from the tournament by eventual winners Waterboys.

Goals Galore

Waterboys and Siemens United managed 26 goals in the group stages. But the biggest win went to Monopoly Mavericks in defeating Midlands Massive 10-0 in the first group game. Unfortunately for them, they departed in the Quarters with a 2-0 defeat to Finance Plan.
